There's this strange gawky looking guy wandering thru Nimbin with his guitar hanging over his shoulder, and I'm on the way to the studio to do my weekly webcrawl show. "You lurking, or looking for a gig, or what?" "No man, I heard there was a radio round here somewhere, thought I'd check it out ... " What else could I do? I sat him in front of a microphone, strapped him in and hung a harp round his neck. Aha! Got me a real live punk rocker here, from Oregon; Purple-heartland of grunge. The only X generationist to do a passable Dylan imitation, and who knows who Hunter S. Thomson was. And then I nearly fell off my chair when he did strange and unusual things to Don McClean's "American Pie" ... |

I drove out to Nimbin on a tip that I'd find good musicians to jam with and some good "herbal inspiration" if you know what I mean. When I get to town, my bass player's gone off to Sydney and I find myself alone in the coffee shop next door. Suddenly, a sound catches my ears... It's NIM FM 102.3 and it's really groovy! I ask the barista "Where's the local radio station, man?" He points me across the street and I'm on my way. When I walk in the door, this punker chick introduces me to this gawky, strange looking guy with two turntables and a microphone. "I've got a disc here you might want to play, man..." He replies "A disc? Dude, how about you come down to the station tomorrow and play live on the air?" What else could I do? He sat me in front of a microphone the next day, threw some heaphones on his head, and man... I thought I was sitting next to Howard Stern or something! Sheesh... It was awesome. Besides, he liked Bob Dylan and knew all about Hunter S. Thompson. The whole radio show went great (except when I fell out of my chair while trying to play Don McClean's "American Pie".) |

This is a "cleaned up, re-edited" show of Aboriginal stand up comedian in action presented by Mandy Nolan, first recorded 13. Feb 2006 at the Byron Bay Bowling Club. Sean talks about politics, rascism, and life experiences as an Aboriginal in Australia. He is from Townsville, with family ties to Cape York, and the Gulf country. As a skilled dancer, musician, actor and impersonater, he brings down the house with his fast sketches and performances. Not shy to 'send up' some of his own people's curiosities, he unites black and white during his show with shared laughs. length: 29:48 min 128 kb/s stereo 27.3 MB

( 12 mins, 3MB) NimFM News Monday 7 May 2007. It's been a big Mardi-Grass weekend. Most of the big time media ask Michael Balderstone & other stale old names like that about what happened, so I decided to ask somebody different for a change. I take you now to the Oasis Cafe for an interview with Pot Art Tattoos guru, Space. Tk 13 NimFM's Paul Skull was on the ground @ Peace Park @ the Bong Throwing @ the Hemp Olympics on Saturday, to report that the (See Skull's full report including photos at NimFM's newly renovated website at www.nimfm.org/news , then click on Saturday 5 in the archives. Skull was also at the Grand Parade on Sunday & was blown away by the color of the event. The particularly good weather over the weekend enabled him to get 3 stunning photos. My favourite was the Ganja fairy stiltwalker in a spectrum halo from the lens. (see photo at top of podcast posting) & today on Monday morning he got some pic's of the clean-up. A picture paints a thousand words, so listeners should go to NimFM's website to view them all on www.nimfm.org/news/
